Supported Education
We help you move from a chosen career goal to being enrolled, oriented, and connected to the right school supports. Supported Education includes researching educational institutions where you can obtain training, a degree, or certification for your agreed-upon career goal.
We assist with school tours, the enrollment process, financial aid, and other tasks related to going to school; translating complex school systems into clear, manageable steps so you can succeed.
Career Exploration
Career Exploration is a comprehensive program where we assist you in researching careers you might be interested in. Using labor market data and, when appropriate, Department of Labor–style assessments, we help you identify careers you might excel in and enjoy, with detailed information to discuss with your vocational counselor.
We also support disability-related employment readiness: resume and cover letter creation, interview practice, job applications, and advocacy when requested. Job coaching may be part of your plan depending on your needs and VR authorization.
Job Development & Retention
Job Development connects you with employers so you can return to work with confidence. We focus on your interests, targeting jobs in your area that fit your skills, income needs, and expectations; with expert career advice, placement services, and strong follow-along support.
What job development includes:
- Assessing job readiness
- Job-seeking skills training
- Individual job site training or employment
- Employer consultation (work site or job modifications)
- On-the-job training opportunities
- Follow-up with you and the employer to ensure satisfaction

Academic Tutoring
Personalized tutoring for all subjects and certifications, one-on-one sessions in public locations to help VR clients reach their academic objectives and succeed in their education goals.
Rehabilitation Instructional Services
Rehabilitation Instructional Services (RIS) help you achieve your vocational or independent living goals and function more independently in the workplace, home, and community. We offer a range of services, including:
- Orientation and adjustment to disability: Mentoring and skills training to build confidence, a positive attitude toward disability, and affirmation of your ability to achieve in competitive employment and community life.
- Orientation and mobility training: Instruction so you can safely navigate identified environments and use public transportation options.
- Independent living skills: Practical life skills, activities of daily living, personal management, and household management.
- Adaptive communication (e.g., Deaf/Hard of Hearing): When authorized, instruction in sign language or other communication methods to prepare for education and employment.
These services help you adjust to living and working with a disability and increase the likelihood of long-term success in employment and independent living.

Everything you need to know about our vocational rehabilitation services.
Individuals with documented disabilities who face challenges in securing or retaining employment may qualify for VR services. Your VR Counselor will determine eligibility and issue a referral—Sqooasha works with you from there.
Once you receive a VR referral, contact us to schedule a Client Service Plan (CSP) meeting. We'll meet with you and your VR Counselor to discuss goals and create your personalized plan.
No. Services are authorized and funded through your state VR agency. There is no cost to you as the client.
Timelines vary based on individual goals and service needs. Some services like Career Exploration may take 8–12 weeks, while Supported Education or Job Development can extend several months. We provide clear timelines in your personalized plan.
We combine deep VR expertise with client-centered care, measurable outcomes, full compliance, responsive communication, and accessible service delivery. We don't just help you reach goals, we ensure sustained success beyond them.
We offer both. Many services can be delivered virtually for convenience, while some (like tutoring or job coaching) may be conducted in-person at public locations. We work with you to determine the best format.
About Sqooasha Vocational Rehabilitation
Sqooasha is an Arizona vocational rehabilitation provider that serves all 15 Arizona counties with Supported Education, Career Exploration, Job Development and Retention, Academic Tutoring for VR clients, Rehabilitation Instructional Services, and Ongoing Support. Services are authorized through the Arizona VR agency at no cost to the client. Physical offices are in Tucson and Phoenix.
Vocational rehabilitation (VR) services are available in Arizona only. Sqooasha also offers K–12 and college tutoring nationwide. Visit our main site if you are outside Arizona.
VR service area (Arizona): Apache, Cochise, Coconino, Gila, Graham, Greenlee, La Paz, Maricopa, Mohave, Navajo, Pima, Pinal, Santa Cruz, Yavapai, and Yuma counties.
