sqooasha was developed with children in mind, therefore, we have taken strict measures to ensure our website is safe for children. Children accounts never include advertisements directed to children.
When you, the adult subscribing to one of our services, add a child user to your account, we may ask you to provide information about your child or student such as their first name, last name, username, birthdate, and gender. All last names of the users you add to our account are encrypted in our effort to conceal the identity of the child. Usernames, however, are not encrypted, therefore, the choice of username selected by you, such as first name initial combined with the last name, may provide some information on the identity of the child. We never share username information of children, however, we ask that you keep this information safe for the privacy of your users.
We store some information of each child while they use our application. This data we collect are used to filter the question set we ask the child to create a personalized experience for each child. We also use this information to prepare progress reports on how the child is doing to report to the subscribing adult. The information we collect about a child user is never used to advertise or market to the child. If you, the adult, deletes a user from your account, we change the child’s first name and username to a generic non-identifiable set of characters that makes the identification of the child not feasible. The retained data on the deleted (concealed identity) student on our system are used strictly for research purposes, to offer better services to our other users.
The adult user, may request that we provide or delete any information we have on any child that is associated to their account. If you wish to completely remove your child’s information from our data base, please send us an email at: email@example.com INSTEAD OF deleting the user from your account by yourself. We need to delete the child’s data ourselves because, once you delete a child user from your account, the first name and user name is assigned a random name and all links to your parent account are broken. Therefore we would have no means of knowing which one of the generically altered/generated usernames represents the child. All we could do is delete such information on any back ups if any exists. When contacting us to completely remove a child from our system, we may ask for information to validate your identification before we remove any information to prevent malicious removal of account information.
