K-12 ELA Tutor

Sqooasha is looking for creative K12 ELA teachers, educators and tutors to join our growing team of tutors. Sqooasha has been providing educational services to students since 2017, including students with various disabilities. The students we work with range from kindergarten students up to college level students. Position Type/Benefits:

  • Part-Time
  • $25 - $30 per hour; DOE
  • Location: Maricopa/Pima - Arizona (In-person tutoring)
Position Summary: Selected Tutors will work closely with Curriculum manager to provide tutoring to students based on provided curriculum and lesson plans, and shall provide the tutoring in a positive and constructive manner. Tutors will work with Curriculum manager to assist in administering assessments to students, and tutoring will be in an in-person group setting of up to five (5) students to one (1) tutor.

Tutors shall assist in providing progress of students to stakeholders, document all tutoring activities on the provided documentation software (NekeSup), and support the Sqooasha management team to create a healthy learning environment for all students. Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience.
  • Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Teacher's Certification.
Additional Skills:
  • Able to handle student confidential information with discretion.
  • Can maintain a high degree of professionalism.
  • Has strong Microsoft Suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to provide instructions in a culturally and linguistically relevant manner to students.
  • Willing to undergo and pass a reference and background check.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide in-person group tutoring to students in a 5:1 ratio.
  • Provide instructions to students in a culturally relevant manner to help with information retention.
  • Tutor students on assigned subject(s) to reach their learning goals based on their individual lesson plans.
  • Document tutoring activities in the provided documentation platform.
  • Perform ongoing review of student assessment results and ensure stakeholders are informed of students' progress.
  • Develop digital learning resources for students based on state standards.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development trainings.
  • Work directly with leadership to promote a healthy learning environment for students.

  • One geographic location based on assigned school/location.
